Last Week
Rotary Minute
Brad Paige gave the Rotary minute and described the activities of Rotary clubs around the world with the name Wells. For example, the club in Indian Wells, Calif. sent care packages to Marines and the club in Wells, England sponsors a reindeer parade each year.
Last week's Speaker
Joan Sylvester of York County Shelters Program gave an overview of the many programs that agency offers. Those include emergency shelters for homeless people, transitional and permanent housing, substance abuse and mental health services, vocational training and food services. They run a food pantry seven days a week and gave out 14,000 boxes of food last year. They serve the entire county.
