    Last week's Speaker

Fletcher Kittridge, GWI, spoke to the club about his past 16 years in the internet company business and said his company specializes in advanced service for businesses. The state has given a grant for rural areas to get connected. - that it was important to tie towns and regions together and to tie public services together, It would be open access and everyone would get the same deal. He spoke of fiber optic cable being much faster, smaller, and cheaper than electronic cable. He said that he was surprised by how many older people attended a meeting in Parsonfield regarding the internet were so concerned - that their concern was that in not being connected, the younger people wouldn't stay in town. And surprisingly announced that the U.S. was only number 16-20 in the world as far as being in the forefront of the industry, and Maine was behind in the U. S.

    New Members

    Auction

Lee Hansen announced that we have enough items for a full auction. He'll pass out the auction assignments next week for May 13 - 4 p.m. to 7:30 shift and 7:00 to 10:30 shift.

    Thought for the Week

But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.

    John Adams
    US diplomat & politician (1735 - 1826)
