Last Week
Rotary Minute
Bob Bohlmann reported that on the Rotary website there were three separate statements regarding service to others in both local and international projects: Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Strategy Statement. All these promote good will and peace, and in Bob's opinion, the Wells Rotary Club is doing just that.
50 / 50
Dennis Hardy won and donated his winning to the beautification project.
Announcements

Margaret Chigas presented Dennis Levasseur with his Rotary pin, and both Gary Leech and Dennis Levasseur received their permanent badges. Tricia Pfeffer was welcomed to the club and presented with her temporary badge.

Ken Kuscher reported that Kathy Thornton's presentation was on the website regarding all the projects that have been done in the last 25 years. He said there is a private area of the website for members only that the rest of Kathy's presentation can be put. Each member has a login to access this part of the site if you don't know your login information, to contact him via e-mail.

Rolf Engwall, a guest attending the meeting from Sweden, presented his clubs banner to Margaret Chigas.

Dates to Remember
July 31 - Chicken BBQ
Sept 13 - Golf Tournament
Last week's Speaker
Assembly

Report from the BOD - Margaret Chigas said that she was thankful that Kathy Chase had left her administration $11,000. Margaret thanked Jim Spiller for his generous offer of supplying the Chicken BBQ with corn on the cob, but explained that the cooking of the corn was more than they could handle this year - perhaps by next year it will be possible. Margaret asked for names of golfers we know who should be contacted regarding the Golf Tournament, and 8 scholarships ($4,000) were awarded YCCC with at least one adult receiving help, as well.
Chicken Barbeque - Assignment sheets were distributed as well as e-mailed. Bob Foley asked that anyone with a business on Route 1 put a sign out. He also asked for volunteers to come Sunday morning to help with the breakdown.
York Hospital Fund Drive - It was suggested that the club donate $5,000 through our own 501C3, and then give the money to the hospital. The York Hospital has been very good to us, and we should support their drive. Joe Sheehan suggested that we give it to a specific project, and it was suggested that it go to the new breast examination equipment slated for the Urgent Care facility in Wells.
Thought for the Week
I began to have an idea of my life, not as the slow shaping of achievement to fit my preconceived purposes, but as the gradual discovery and growth of a purpose which I did not know.
