Welcome to the Rotary Club of Wells Maine Web site. Our Club invites people to learn about Rotary, to understand how our Rotary Club functions and to then consider joining our active group.
Since the it's charter date on January 17th, 1986, the Club has continually provided an atmosphere of fellowship, encouraging our members to work together on needed community and international projects while living the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self". We are proud of our participation in many successful projects in Wells over the years, including the Wells Harbor Pavilion; the Wells High School Refreshment Building; the Wells/Ogunquit Senior Center handicap access and landscaping projects; and the Wells Recreation Park Pavilion. Also, the Club gives thousands of scholarship dollars annually to both Wells High School graduates and York County Community College students. Through donations from our Club, we support international programs such as the eradication of polio worldwide; clean water wells; literacy, and the "Rotaplast" program, which provides donated cleft lip and clef palate surgeries to children in third world countries. One of our own club members founded the "Wrap-a-Smile" project that provides handmade quilts to the children recovering from these Rotaplast surgeries!
Wells Rotary Club has strong, active and talented members who commit to building goodwill at home and in the world and who promote high ethical standards in all vocations. As any good, growing family, we are always looking for new quality family members. If you are interested, contact us and be an invited guest to a Monday morning breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the Wells Coastal House, 2128 Post Road, Route One, in Wells.
