Updates
Operation Warm
We are still waiting for the district funding for our Grant which was approved earlier this Summer. We are still on schedule to sponsor a new winter clothing drive to include mittens, hats, and sicks. We are shooting for the end of October. More information to come.
US Stencil Project
Thank you to the many volunteers who helped to complete the paint touch up of the US Stencil behind the Elementary School. Volunteers from the Ogunquit Club joined us as well. The completed project was posted on our website, on our Facebook page and also on the Wells Group face book page.
Speaker
Our speaker was District Governor Dick Hall. Dick joined Rotary in 1984 and first became a Paul Harris fellow in 1988. In his early years he was a member of the Worcester Rotary Club ( just stone’s throw ) from Deb LaPointe’s former club. He talked about his “firsts”
- First worlds largest yard sale event in Worcester
- His first International project which was a solar project in Haiti
Dick presented an inspiring video to help remind ourselves of the great work that we can do as a group. In his remarks he wanted us to think about a variety of areas to focus on including but not exclusive of:
- Club Service
- Membership
- Diversity
- Public Image
- Foundation
And of course…not to forget to live by the four w ay test!
He is encouraging all of the rotary clubs within our district to be creative in seeking new members, telling our story and support the Rotary Foundation. Thankyou to Dick for joining us, supporting our efforts and being a critical part of the success of the club moving forward. FMI be sure to visit the district website at www.
